SENZ delivers three FREE employment services from its South Office.

At SENZ Training and Employment we understand that starting a new job is not always easy.

This page explains how we can guide and support you.

In-Work Support
How we can help you at Work

The In-Work Support Service offers FREE full personal assistance and guidance while you settle into your new job.

Qualified staff will assist you with all the advice and support to ensure the transition goes smoothly. We provide an environment that is positive and understanding of each person's needs.

Your Employment Coach has a range of experience helping people at work and can assist you in a variety of ways.

This includes:

  • Budgeting
  • Financial support
  • Debt management and repayment
  • ACC claims
  • Liaison with Government agencies including Work and Income, Immigration, Inland Revenue, Housing New Zealand
  • Career Development

Other ways we can help you
We can assist and support you in your return to work. This includes:

  • Childcare
  • Health issues
  • Budgeting advice
  • Accommodation
  • Family and relationship issues
  • Transport

What can SENZ Training and Employment do for you?

SENZ assists CLIENTS to secure employment.

We aim to ensure that the client receives the support, advice and training necessary to secure employment.

SENZ offers the EMPLOYER a client with the appropriate skills suitable for the job.

We aim to ensure that the employer receives the best candidate for the vacancy.

Services we provide the Employer:

  • We seek and secure suitable employees with the appropriate skills relevant to the position available
  • We present suitable clients who meet the employer's criteria
  • We provide FREE In-Work support. We work with your new employee to ensure that all parties are happy and any questions or queries resolved
  • We assist the new employee with general employment enquiries
  • We provide ongoing support for staff with visits and phone calls

Services we provide for the Client:

  • FREE Curriculum Vitae (CV) preparation
  • Identifying cilent's skills, strengths and areas of interest
  • Assisting and developing the client's career path and job search skills
  • One on one employment coaching
  • Prepare and train the client with interview techniques and strategies
  • Ensure the client has addressed any possible barriers to employment
  • Travel assistance to and from the interview
  • Empowering each client to independence

  • Explore further training opportunities
  • Ensure access to other services
  • Discuss employment contract concerns
  • Liaise with Government agencies including Work and Income, Housing NZ, Inland Revenue Department
  • Provide information on debt repayments, childcare, financial subsidies and other entitlements.

Sole Parenting
A FREE service to support and guide solo parents seeking employment.

SENZ understands that each client has individual needs and encounters a number of obstacles in securing employment or further training. SENZ staff ensure the client receives the appropriate advice and support.

SENZ staff will work through the following steps to assist each sole parent (client) in achieving meaningful employment, training or education:

  1. Developing a positive relationship between SENZ staff and the client.
  2. Instilling a sense of confidence within the client so that they will achieve meaningful employment, training or education.
  3. Identifying the barriers to each individual's long term employment, training or education.
  4. Determining solution/s to addressing the barrier/s.
  5. Identifying the client's strengths and the transferable skills they currently possess.
  6. Providing clients individual coaching on how to prepare appropriately for an interview.
  7. Coaching each client with specific job search skills.
  8. Participating in a variety of simulated interviews and providing feedback and assistance where necessary.
  9. Matching the client to a potential employer, training provider or tertiary institution.
  10. Developing an appropriate career choice and plan.
  11. Providing support through the interview process.
  12. Providing Post-Placement/In-Work Support through ongoing contact and assistance when and if appropriate.
  13. Provide support and guidance in seeking further training or education.
  14. On-going coaching that is focussed on encouragement and maintaining motivation
